General

Toluna UK Limited (“Toluna” "we", "us" or "our") respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Lifestyle Survey Privacy Notice (which we shall also refer to as the “Notice”) informs you as to how your personal data is used when you participate in the Lifestyle Survey and any follow-up survey (“Survey”), and explains your rights in respect of that data.

We run the Survey for and on behalf of our client Dentsu London Limited (“Client” or “Dentsu”), whose core business is to help other organisations improve how they advertise and market their products and services. Some of the data that you share when completing the Survey is passed on to our Client. This Notice provides you with information on the data shared with our Client as well as a link to further information on how our Client uses your data.

Whether you are an existing Toluna panellist or you joined one of our partner’s panel, this privacy notice should be read in conjunction with the Toluna Panellist Privacy Notice (https://toluna.com/privacy), which applied when you originally agreed to become a Toluna panellist and/or participate in our surveys (“Toluna Panellist Privacy Notice”). If you are one of our partners’ panel members, then the privacy notice that was made available to you when you joined their panel (“Partner Privacy Notice”) may also apply.

This Lifestyle Survey Privacy Notice is being given to you in addition to the Toluna Panellist Privacy Notice and/or the Partner Privacy Notice (jointly referred to as “Existing Privacy Notices”), so that you are fully aware of how and why your data is used. This Notice is intended to supplement those Existing Privacy Notices and not to replace them. In the event of a conflict between the Existing Privacy Notices and this Notice, the provisions of this Notice will apply.

Tell me more about the information you and others process about me and why.

The Lifestyle Survey and any follow-up surveys you may choose to participate in are administered by Toluna. For further information on how we process your personal data, please see the Toluna Panellist Privacy Notice.

We conduct the Lifestyle Survey and any follow-up surveys for and on behalf of Dentsu (and in the case of follow-up surveys, on behalf of Dentsu or the Dentsu Group Companies’ clients). Dentsu Group Companies is defined below. Dentsu’s core business is to help other organisations improve how they advertise and market their products and services.

We transfer to Dentsu the results of the surveys you participated in. These results may include your age, marital status, gender, birthday, household size, income, education and employment status (“Results”). The Results may also include data collected from any cookies that you have consented to be set and stored in your browser.

On occasions, the Results may include personally identifiable information such as details about your race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, political views and religious or philosophical beliefs. They may also include information about your health. By continuing to take part in the surveys, you are consenting to the processing of this personally identifiable information in the ways described in this Notice as well as our Client’s privacy notice. You can find a link to our Client’s privacy notice in the paragraph below.

Dentsu use the Results for research purposes - to better understand how consumers respond to advertising - and to find the most appropriate audience for its own clients' marketing and advertising activities. Dentsu is part of a bigger group of companies and it may share the Results with such other companies (the “Dentsu Group Companies”). The Dentsu Group Companies will use the Results in the same ways as described here. Our Client does not use the Results to target panellists who have participated in the surveys with any marketing or advertising. For further information on how our Client uses the Results, please read Dentsu’s privacy notice https://www.dentsu.com/lifestyle-survey (“Dentsu Privacy Notice”).

Please be assured that we do not pass your name, postal address, email address or telephone number, (“Contact Data”) to Dentsu. We may, however, share some of your Contact Data with other third parties as described in the paragraph “Do you share my personal data with anyone?” below.

If you are a panellist of any of our panel partners and have been referred to this survey by them, please note that Toluna will only process your Contact Data if you have given us your explicit consent in advance, which is normally collected in a survey you participated in. Unless you agreed to share your Contact Data with us in a survey, your panel partner is the sole custodian of your Contact Data, and we only invite you to participate in surveys via the existing panel partner with whom you are a member.
